She is presently a staff nurse on the Women’s Health unit at Hartford Hospital. For two years she explored the east coast while working as a traveling nurse at some of our countries top hospitals such as Yale New Haven, CT; Johns Hopkins Hospital; MD and Grady Memorial, GA etc. Daileann is definitely a contributor to the community. She is a March of Dimes volunteer. She is also on the board at the Institute of Community Research (ICR) in Hartford, where she partners with a group of interdisciplinary professionals, to educate and empower women from the community, on the benefits of the female condom. Her nephew being born with Sickle cell disease (SCD) encouraged her to become certified as a community counselor.
Her goal for CQSCC is to educate the community on the unbearable pain experienced by individuals who are mismanaged, while experiencing a sickle cell crisis. Providing more information about SCD will hopefully conquer the stigma attached with pain crises. Another goal is to assist with fundraising, which consequently will support research devoted to finding a cure. Ultimately, this will improve the life individuals with sickle cell can have including her nephew Brandon.
